In order to ensure the efficient management, utilization, and commercialization of DOST-generated technologies, DOST Secretary Mario G. Montejo issued Special Order No. 630 creating the DOST Technology Transfer Core Team, which took effect on September 29, 2015.
Now being chaired by Dr. Rowena Cristina L. Guevara, Undersecretary for S&T Services, and with TAPI Director Edgar I. Garcia as Vice-Chair, the said team was appointed to "assist in the formulation, performance, consolidation, monitoring, assessment, and reporting of strategies to manager, utilize, and commercialize DOST-generated technologies".
TAPI and TECHNICOM officials, resource persons and participants from Visayas state universities and colleges and private R&D companies at the “Regional Proposal-Driven Writeshop for TECHNICOM and Other TAPI Programs”
CEBU CITY – After a successful training-writeshop in Mindanao, it was Visayas’ turn for the “Regional Proposal-Driven Writeshop for TECHNICOM and Other TAPI Programs,” which was held here, August 12 to 14, 2015, in collaboration with DOST Region VII.
A total of 20 researchers from state universities and colleges in Cebu, Aklan, Iloilo, Siquijor, Leyte, Southern Leyte and Negros Oriental, as well as from local private companies Aurora Research and Isecompany, Inc., were trained by TAPI’s experts on technology management, intellectual property rights and protection, and business and marketing strategies at the technical training sessions.
