The Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) showed tribute to female employees by organizing a half-day series of activities on March 8, 2019 at DOST-TAPI AVR in celebration of the National Women’s Day.

Pursuant to Republic Act 6949 declaring March 8 of every year as National Women’s Day, the Institute espoused activities such as showing of video clips about women empowerment, team building games, and offering of treats in observance of the National Women’s Month.

“DOST-TAPI recognizes women’s contribution to the development of society by providing an enabling environment and designing our programs and services gender inclusive and gender sensitive” said Ms. Nora Gumia, Alternate Focal Chairperson of TAPI GAD.

“In fact, DOST-TAPI’s workforce is composed of 80 women and 56 men”, she added.

This year’s celebration continued to use the theme from previous years’ “We Make Change Work for Women” which promotes empowerment of women as highlighted in the implementation of Magna Carta for Women and by being an agent of positive change.
