The #SPICEStoDOSTLabS features DOST-FNRI’s laboratories on 26 February 2020 at DOST-FNRI, Taguig City

The Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) will conduct the third leg of the “Strategic Promotion through Integrating Collaboration and Engagement of SMEs to Support the Technology Transfer and Commercialization of DOST-Developed Technologies including Testing Laboratories and Services” dubbed as #SPICEStoDOSTLabS on 26 February 2020 at the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-TAPI), Taguig City.

The #SPICEStoDOSTLabS was able to promote the laboratory testing and services of the Advance Devices and Materials Laboratory (ADMATEL) on 06 September 2019 and the Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) on 28 October 2019.

Under the DOST-TAPI’s Technology Transfer Day Project, the activity aims to provide a platform for actual demonstration, orientation, and information dissemination among micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) for their research and development (R&D) activities.

In addition, one-on-one consultations are offered to interested clients to discuss their specific needs and queries.

Designed as a series of laboratory visits, the event will showcase the DOST-FNRI laboratories, as the premier Philippine laboratories for chemical, microbiological, and biochemical analyses of food and functional food, feed, water quality and safety, and biological samples, comparable with international laboratories.

DOST-FNRI offers chemical, microbiological, proficiency testing, biochemical, nutrigenomics, and sensory laboratories equipped with equipment and instruments in determining nutrition labeling, toxicants or contaminants, and food and water safety, among others.

Throughout the year, the #SPICEStoDOSTLabS will promote the laboratories and testing services of the Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI), Metals Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC), Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI), and Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DOST-PNRI).

Almost a hundred participants are expected to attend the activity.
