DOST Reaches Mindanao to Cater Filipino Technologies

If you missed the 1st Technology Transfer Day last 27 April 2016 at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila and the one conducted in Ormoc City, Leyte last 14 September 2016, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) ensures to reach out even the farthest regions in the country.

DOST in collaboration with MINDA DOST Regions will hold the Mindanao Technology Transfer Day on 13 December 2016 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang, Davao City.

The event will showcase Filipino innovations that will initiate partnerships among technology generators, research institutions, investors and stakeholders. Through this, ground of opportunities will be opened for Mindanao enterprises and organizations to invest on local technologies for licensing and adoption in the same areas such as Agricultural Productivity, Industry Competitiveness, Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction Management and quality healthcare.

The Mindanao Technology Transfer Day will also promote a synergy of ideas and experiences from participants, innovators and exhibitors on how these local technologies move the Philippine economy forward as the entrepreneurs benefitted from locally available equipment and products competitive enough to generate income.

During the celebrations of Technology Transfer Day in Manila and Ormoc, several inquiries were received resulting to numerous licensing agreements. “With our newly reinvigorated business climate and economy, the government will not be complacent and will ensure that progress will be sustained and strengthened by a thriving local economy anchored on science, technology and innovation.” TAPI Director Engr. Edgar I. Garcia said.

Through this event, TAPI is looking forward in helping more enterprises and organizations to transfer and adopt proudly Filipino innovations for the interest and benefit of the general public guided by the Republic Act 10055, also known as the Philippine Technology Transfer Act of 2009.
