Five years after its launch in 2016, The Technology Transfer Day  Project or “Tech Trans Day” promoted DOST-funded technologies, signed 261 term sheets, and executed 34 Technology Licensing Agreements.

Implemented by the Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI), Tech Trans Day is a three-year project which promotes technologies made by local technology generators (TechGen).

It also enables a smoother and faster transfer of technologies to the mainstream market.

From 2016 to 2017, 73 new technologies were featured from research and development institutes (RDI) and universities.

From the technologies developed by the Forest Products Research and Development Institute, Philippines Textile Research Institute, University of the Philippines Diliman, and Ateneo de Manila, 17 term sheets were signed.

Term sheets are documents that signify the adopters' willingness to fund the technologies.

The following year, 29 technologies were presented to potential companies and organizations and 41 term sheets were signed for possible commercialization of the technologies.

This was also the year that the ‘Regional Offices (RO) Meet TechGens’ and ‘TechGens Meet Chief Executive Officers (CEO)’ were first held.

The events were venues to pitch the technologies to possible adopters and investors especially those in the regions where technologies from the National Capital Region are barely heard of.

In 2019, the Tech Trans Day promoted 96 technologies and facilitated the successful signing of 21 term sheets.

Due to the restrictions caused by the coronavirus disease pandemic in 2020 and 2021, Tech Perfect, a virtual webinar series, was held to promote DOST-generated technologies only in a virtual platform.

To date, eight technologies were commercialized through the Project.
