The Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) will hold a technology forum showcasing the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development’s (PCAARRD) Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources (AANR) Technologies on 21 December 2017 at the Livelihood Productivity & Training Center (LPTC), Brgy. Batya, Northville 5 Bocaue, Bulacan.
In October this year, a new collaborative undertaking took place between TAPI and PCAARRD when a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed for the promotion of AANR technologies using interactive, attractive user-interface platforms, and thru the conduct of AANR technology fora. PCAARRD identified AANR technologies as one of its priorities recognizing its importance to the country’s economic development. TAPI as the implementing arm of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in promoting the commercialization of technologies, extends its services of providing PCAARRD the needed promotional strategies to stimulate awareness of the public which would lead to the utilization, adoption, and commercialization of AANR technologies.
The forum is organized to provide awareness on Hydroponics/Aquaponics Technology and Organic Agriculture/Vegetable Farming which will be discussed by distinguished speakers, Dr. Chito F. Sace from Central Luzon State University (CLSU) and Dr. Rodel C. Maghirang from the Institute of Plant Breeding (IPB), respectively. The forum is expected to be attended by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), fisherfolks and farmers. It will be a valuable and rewarding opportunity for the participants to engage into technology experience from active interactions with the speakers.
The AANR technology forum is free-of-charge. (By: Pierre Sonia S. Dela Corte, Senior SRS)
