The Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) showcased its programs and services during the Far East Air Transport Incorporated (FEATI) University Science and Technology (S&T) Expo 2018 on 06-07 March 2018 at FEATI University in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
The theme “Reaching Greater Heights through Collaboration & Innovation” embodied the collaborative efforts of FEATI University, the DOST, and the Philippine Fiber Industry and Development Authority of the Department of Agriculture (DA-PhilFIDA) in designing and fabricating an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for disaster-risk reduction and management which subsequently highlighted the two-day expo.
“Research can be perceived as a thankless job and so it is most rewarding when new knowledge and capabilities are generated,” said Dr. Ing Adolfo Jesus R. Gopez, FEATI University President.
Included in this year’s S&T Expo was the 2018 Research Competition that was participated by 31 high school and 18 university entrees from various public secondary and tertiary education levels.
Moreover, the expo became a venue for promoting DOST-TAPI’s premier programs and activities such as the National Invention Contest and Exhibits (NICE), DOST-Academe Technology-Based Enterprise Development (DATBED) Program, Industry-based Invention Development (IBID) Program, Invention-based Enterprise Development (IBED) Program, Technology Innovation for Commercialization (TECHNICOM) Program, and Invent School Program (ISP) closer to the young market.
