MOA Orientation for the Project “Proposed JZ Jewelry Repair Shop Expansion Into a Full-Blown Jewelry Manufacturing Company” under the Venture Financing Program

19 June 2017 – A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Orientation activity was conducted at the Hotel Lobby of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City. Ms. Evelyn Zamora, Owner of JZ Jewelry Repair Shop together with her husband, Mr. Juanito L. Zamora, Jr and his business partner, Mr. Nelson C. Buena, Jr. were briefed by Atty. Marion Ivy D. Decena, Legal Unit Head regarding the provisions of the MOA for the project entitled “Proposed JZ Jewelry Repair Shop Expansion Into a Full-Blown Jewelry Manufacturing Company” under the Venture Financing Program of Investment and Business Operations Division (IBOD).

Through the intervention, the company will be able increase sales and income of at least 5%, increase production efficiency and capacity by 20% through utilizing its the in-house designs in at least 10 different jewelry shops (resellers), the company is expected also to generate at least additional three (3) employment.

Freedom to Operate necessary for favorable fairness opinion – DOST-TAPI

Muntinlupa City, Philippines – The Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) conducted a training on Freedom to Operate (FTO) on 04-05 May 2017 at the B Hotel in Alabang, Muntinlupa City in collaboration with the Association of PAQE Professionals, Inc. (APP).

The training was conducted through the aggressive investment of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) to support its technology transfer activities. Among the projects implemented by DOST-TAPI which funded the training-workshop was the “Support to the Preparation of Freedom to Operate (FTO_ in the Technology Transfer Activities of PCAARRD-Funded Projects”. It is notable that the conducted FTO training was the first in the country through the best efforts of TAPI and PCAARRD.
