Five years after its launch, the Technology Transfer Day Project was able to hold 41 events and activities throughout the country to promote locally-made technologies.

Established in 2016, the Project promoted various DOST-generated and -funded technologies and looked for possible adopters who will facilitate its commercialization.

The ASEAN Technology Transfer Forum in Mactan, Cebu was held through the Technology Transfer Day Project

In 2016, the first National Technology Transfer Day was held and produced three commercialized technologies.

A year later, the first Regional Technology Transfer Days were held in Cebu City, Santiago City in Isabela, Cagayan De Oro City, Iloilo City, and Pampanga, and produced five additional commercialized technologies.

In 2018, the Project facilitated a new strategy in facilitating the technology commercialization in the region.

The DOST Regional Offices were able to meet the technology generators and the technology generators were able to meet the chief executive officers.

Moreover, the Technology Transfer Day Project has facilitated the ASEAN TechTrans Forum in Mactan, Cebu, which was attended by top management, technology generators, researchers, and technology transfer business officers.

In 2019, the second batch of DOST Regional Offices Meet TechGens was held as well as the second National Technology Transfer Day and the Regional TechTrans Day in Ilocos Region.

And even with the pandemic, DOST-TAPI still managed to conduct events virtually to continue promoting technologies.

In 2020 and 2021, TechPerfect was conducted via video conferencing to continuously offer technologies among the possible adopters and investors.

Moreover, the Project funded the “Strategy to Accelerate and Revitalize Technology Transfer” or StARTT, a series of webinars spearheaded by DOST-CALABARZON.

The Technology Transfer Project is implemented by the Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI).
