  • Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Advises the Head of TAPI  on legal matters concerning policies, enforcement, interpretation and administrative of laws affecting TAPI;
    2. Undertakes review of rulings and decisions prepared by the officials of TAPI;
    3. Handles all legal matters related to clients of TAPI namely inventors, researchers, small and medium enterprises, cooperatives, etc. including review of compliance of clients with the terms and recommend courses of action as warranted;
    4. Assists in the preparation of office orders, circulars, rules, regulations, memoranda concerning the activities of TAPI;
    5. Collaborates with the Office of the Solicitor General, Office of the Ombudsman and DOST Legal Office in cases litigated before judicial courts or administrative bodies;
    6. Appears in all cases filed by TAPI or filed against it;
    7. Conducts hearing on cases arising from violation of laws, office rules and regulations by TAPI staff and renders rulings or opinions on such cases;
    8. Handles and prepares all pleadings, appeals memo relative to COA disallowances;
    9. Conduct legal research and studies on points of laws and performs related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
