The Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI), one of the service institutes of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), mandated to 1. Promote the commercialization of technologies, 2. Market the services of other operating units of the Department, 3. Administer the Invention Development Assistance Fund for the initial experiments and prototype development and other invention-development related activities, 4. Provide technical consultancy including engineering design services, patenting and licensing services 5. Provide grants and venture financing for new and emerging projects 6. Assist technology generators, inventors, and researchers avail of the laboratories and other facilities of the Research and Development Institutes including DOST Regional Offices and other government agencies, offices, and instrumentalities; and 7. Accredit and recognize inventors' associations throughout their activities, is in need of:

CSC Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree relevant to the job
Training: None Required
Experience: Three (3) years of supervisory/management experience
Eligibility: Career Executive Service (CES) Eligibility/Career Service Executive
Eligible (CSEE). In the absence of CES or CSEE CES eligibility, the candidate must apply for eligibility within one (1) year from assumption to duty.

Additional Qualification Requirements:
● Must be a Filipino citizen
● Preferably with:
1. An advanced degree in S&T related fields; a PhD degree is an advantage
2. Four (4) years of supervisory /management experience (the last two years of which are with at least very satisfactory ratings)
3. 120 hours of management and technical trainings/learning and development interventions undertaken
● Must be in good health condition
● Must not have been convicted of administrative or criminal offense

Job Description:
1. Takes primary responsibility in the formulation, recommendation and implementation of approved policies, plans programs and projects, rules and regulations needed for the effective and efficient operation of the Institute;
2. Promotes and maintains close coordination between the government and private sector engaged in research and development activities, funding of start-ups, invention and their utilization;
3. Establishes standard operating procedures, plans, programs, directs, coordinates and control the operational and administrative activities of the Institute with effectiveness, efficiency and economy;
4. Promotes the application and/or commercialization of new technologies particularly through the creation of new technology enterprises;
5. Negotiates and works out technical assistance programs from other countries and other government agencies and private sectors for science and technology;
6. Gives special attention to maintenance of morale, discipline and the development of highly motivated, cooperative and well-coordinated work force.
