BCYF Innovation Awards by the Benita and Catalino Yap Foundation in partnership with the University of Asia and the Pacific, Department of Science and Technology, TEVSAPHIL, and presented by iRemit Inc.
Innovation is arguably the main driver in initiating difference for the better and uplifting the welfare of the general population towards economic and social development as evidenced in a postmodern world.
The rise of new technologies, the new media for example, has inevitably revolutionized the way businesses communicate and transact, taking all risks of failure while welcoming revenues with no reservations.
The Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) has been a keen promoter of innovations since its conception in 1987. Serving as an effective and efficient dispensing body of deliverables to stakeholders and the general public, TAPI has been a consistent ally and supporter of Filipino inventions and breakthroughs by providing assistance through grants, consultancies, and contract researches.
Final nominees of the BCYF Innovation Award on 20 February 2017 at the Kalayaan Hall, Malacañang Palace, Manila
The Benita and Catalino Yap Foundation (BCYF) recognized the technologies assisted by the Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department and Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) during the first BCYF Innovation Awards on 20 February 2017 at the Kalayaan Hall, Malacañang Palace, Manila.
The Award was on the lookout for innovations that made significant impacts in uplifting the lives of the Filipino population.
The Civil Service Commision - National Capital Region (CSC-NCR) Field Office through Director Dick N. Echavez, personally awarded the CSC registered CNA to TAPI Director Engr. Edgar I. Garcia and to eager and enthusiastic officers of TAPIEA last 13 March 2017 at the office of the Director as a reflection of good relationship between the management and the employees of the Department of Science and Technology - Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI). The CNA is valid for three (3) years from the date of signing.
Another milestone has been unveiled as the Department of Science and Technology through the Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) brought its major Technology Transfer Day in Mindanao, December 13, at the SMX Convention Center, Lanang, Davao City.
Seen in full action are different industry-based Fairness Opinion Boards (FOB) which also served during the Technology Transfer Day events in Luzon and Visayas earlier this year, as they evaluated proposed transactions during the event, provided actual negotiations and drafting of licensing agreements to commercialize government-funded research projects.
